[27/04/16] Analox Military Systems (AMS) attended the official industry reception for this year’s NATO Underwater Diving Working Group (UDWG).
The reception was held on 13 April at The Holiday Inn, Billwerder Neuer Deich, in Hamburg, Germany.
Nations represented at the conference included Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France and Poland.
The UDWG standardises all aspects of military underwater diving including diving techniques, clearance diving operations, ship’s diver operations, underwater construction operations and medical guidance for diving operations.
It has two committees, the Medical Committee and the Equipment and Systems (E&S) Committee.
The Medical Committee consists of naval medical officers and civilian specialists who examine the field of diving medicine.
The E&S Committee is responsible for diving equipment related problems and identifies patterns that may be associated with improper design or use. They also research new equipment/services available commercially and present them to the UDWG conference.
Jo Burke, Key Account Manager and Ian Childes, Technical Sales Engineer, participated in the reception and showcased our wide range of gas detection solutions.
Jo said: “We had a stand during the evening which gave us the opportunity to speak to several customers about the need for gas monitoring and discuss products such as the ACG+ which is used to monitor breathing air. We also showcased other products including the Sub Aspida, dual screen SDA, and O2EII Pro, and explored the requirement of CO2 rebreathers.
“It was a successful event and we received positive feedback from our customers, with some showing a keen interest to trial the ACG+.”
Ian added: “We were one of the smaller companies present, so it was good to show our faces. We’ve now got some new avenues to explore and have identified ways we could potentially assist our customers in the future.”
