Memberships & Accreditations

For armoured vehicle operators, the two gases that pose the biggest risk are carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO2).

Carbon monoxide (CO) is present in vehicle exhaust fumes and is also generated inside the vehicles when weapons are fired. Being exposed to carbon monoxide poisoning can result in headaches, dizziness, weakness, vomiting, chest pain and confusion. If someone breathes in a lot of carbon monoxide (CO), it can make the subject pass out or even worse, cause death.

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is another gas that poses a high risk to armoured vehicle users. Created by the respiration of personnel inside the vehicle; increases in carbon dioxide (CO2) levels can cause tiredness and a reduced state of alertness, which could potentially cost lives.

Having reliable equipment to detect and monitor these gas levels is essential to keeping your squad safe and fully alert.
