Mark Lewis - Group Managing Director
Mark Lewis joined Analox in June 2006 as Group Managing Director, and is responsible for the growth of the companies in the Analox Group.
His biggest change to Analox was when Analox Military Systems was created to focus on gas sensing for military applications.
Mark studied Electrical & Electronic Engineering at Coventry University and sees himself as a technologist at heart. He has a keen interest in the products that Analox make, and the several applications they are manufactured for, from submarines, fast food joints, labs to space rockets. He also likes the opportunity to solve a wacky problem for a customer as it keeps his grey matter going.
In his role, Mark most enjoys dealing with people and over the years he has overseen the growth of the company and helped build a great team, which he has found tremendously rewarding.
Before joining Analox, Mark started out as a development engineer developing analogue and digital systems.
He then went to Dowty Magnetics designing military magnetic systems before moving to Landis & Gyr as Head of Technology and Operations.
Following the takeover of Landis & Gyr, Mark moved to Wavetek, which produced ultra-precision electrical measurement and calibration equipment, and then took on the role of Technical Director at Taylor Hobson to transform their product line. The new technologies took the instrument maker to a £40-million business which was then sold to Ametek in 2004.
Mark lives in Commondale, North Yorkshire and has a smallholding which keeps him busy. He enjoys cycling round the moors on his bike, whether on a mountain bike or road bike, and has participated in several endurance cycling events.
